Bridging business cultures: FSU – MENA
Through advising companies, Khaznah Strategies is actively working to bridge the gap between the business cultures in the former Soviet Union and the Middle East. We believe that business co-operation will be one of the driving forces for economic growth and post-crisis economic recovery in the two regions. Such co-operation will also have important implications for global economic development. We also believe that the current limited co-operation between companies from the former Soviet Union and MENA countries is primarily attributable to the lack of familiarity with the business cultures between the two regions.
There is a much greater degree of familiarity between business communities in MENA countries and Western economies, on the one hand, and Russia and FSU countries and Western economies, on the other. An extensive and sophisticated network of specialised institutions (consultancies, think-tanks, etc.) assists and analyses business activities between FSU and the West, and MENA and the West respectively. Such institutions that could facilitate co-operation, especially in the private sector, between the FSU and MENA are much less developed.
We at Khaznah Strategies believe in the role of cross-border and cross-cultural business co-operation in enhancing economic development, prosperity, regional stability and peace. While our main focus is on the two world's largest regional producers of oil & gas – FSU and MENA – we also see great potential for increased economic activity between companies from all hydrocarbon-producing nations.
